Biography

2005: Made 24 pitching appearances including five stints as a starter for the Spartans in his junior season...finished the year second on the pitching staff with a 3.48 earned run average...completed the season with a career-high five wins in 75.0 innings pitched...struck out a career-high 62 batters while allowing only 17 extra base hits...tied for the team lead with six saves...notched his first save of the season in an 8-3 win against James Madison (Feb. 26)...also struck out a season-high six batters in that same game...garnered his first win of the campaign in a relief role in a 14-6 victory over The Citadel (Mar. 12)...pitched five innings or more on five different occasions...earned his second win of the season in a 3-2 win at Davidson after allowing no runs and no hits in three innings of mound duty...picked up his third win on the season after allowing just one run over five innings in a 7-3 win over Liberty (Apr.17)...walked only 13 batters out of 291 faced...hurled a season-high 6.0 innings of work against No. 20 College of Charleston (May 21)...recorded his fourth win in a 9-4 triumph over UNC Asheville (Apr. 20)...pitched two innings of relief at Wofford to collect his fifth victory in a 6-5 win over the Terriers.

2004: Posted a 3.09 earned run average in 25 appearances in his sophomore season...made his first career start against North Carolina and struck out a season-high five batters in the process (May 5)...also struck out five hitters against College of Charleston (May 27)...recorded 41 strikeouts on the season...picked up wins in relief against Ohio (Mar. 7) and Appalachian State (May 9).

2003:  Appeared in relief in 19 games in his rookie season...walked only six batters out of 117 faced...picked up his first win of his career in the 4-2 win over Ohio (Feb. 23)...hurled a season-high 4.2 innings of work against The Citadel (May 10).

High School: Earned three letters at Chapel Hill HS for head coach David Miller...was named All-Pac VI in 2001 and 2002...was named to the North Carolina State All-Tournament squads in 2000 and 2002...led Chapel Hill to the 2002 Pac VI Conference Championship...also played three years with the American Legion Post 6 squad...helped the team to the state tournament each year.
