Madison Area Technical College (2008-09): Played two seasons at Madison Area Technical College for coach Mike Davenport ... lead the team his sophomore season in hits (63, RBI (44), doubles (14) and home runs (4) ... was second on team with a .399 batting average during his second season, behind only current teammate Chris Barker ... was also second on the squad in runs scored (42) and slugging percentage (.576) ... had an impressive freshman campaign as well that saw him hit .295 with 34 runs scored and 24 RBI ... hit seven doubles on the year and stole a team-leading 13 bases ... also had 25 walks during his freshman season.

Summer Ball: Played for the Sheboygan A's during the summer of 2008 and 2009 for coach Chad Gehr ... His team finished first in the North Eastern Wisconsin League both years and he was named the starting pitcher of the 2008 All-Star Game.

High School: Earned four varsity letters for coach Craig Kloes at Sheboygan South High School ... capped off an impressive senior season by being named first-team all-conference and first-team all-region ... he also earned second-team all-state honors and was named to the Wisconsin All-Star game ... holds 17 different offensive school records ... was elected team MVP and captain in his final year ... helped lead his team to a conference championship as a freshman ... also lettered twice in football and was named Most Improved as a junior.

Personal: Taylor Mathew Schwarz ... born June 26, 1989 in Sheboygan, Wis. ... son of Gregg and Julie Schwarz ... has three siblings, Heather, Kristen and Brandon ... father played two years of basketball at St. Cloud Technical College ... also recruited by UW-Milwaukee and Iowa ... majoring in sociology at UNCG.
