John Quam was hired in April 2026 and brings a background in both analytics and coaching. Most recently, he was a data analyst for HD Intelligence providing data-driven insights to more than 30 NCAA programs, by translating advanced metrics into actionable strategies.
Quam began his coaching career at Malone University, where he was an assistant men’s basketball coach from 2023-25. During the 2024-25 season, the team secured a Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship and earned an NCAA Tournament appearance. While at Malone, Quam was chosen to be part of the TopConnect Leadership Academy as one of the 21 top young college basketball coaches in the country.
Prior to Malone, Quam was a student manager at Wisconsin, contributing to the 2021-22 Big 10 Regular Season Championship team and a 2022-23 NIT semi-finalist squad. In that role, he helped with program operations, recruiting, video and game operations.
Quam earned a Bachelor of Science in both statistics and data science from Wisconsin in 2023 and completed his Master of Business Administration in business and data analytics from Malone in 2025.
