Madison Area Technical College (2007-09): Spent three years at Madison Area Technical College where he played for coach Mike Davenport ... helped lead his team to a 37-12 record last year as a sophomore with a 9-1 record in conference play ... earned a NJCAA Division II Rawlings Gold Glove Award after posting a .978 fielding percentage as an outfielder ... led the team as a sophomore with a .419 batting average and was second on the team with a .537 slugging percentage ... he added 28 RBI and 39 runs scored on the season ... led the team with 20 stolen bases and was hit by pitch a team-high 17 times ... hit .315 as a freshman with 20 RBI and 27 runs scored ... had two doubles, a triple and two home runs as he had a .424 slugging percentage ... stole 14 bases in 18 attempts during his first season ... was granted a medical redshirt during his second season at MATC.

Summer Ball: Played for the Madison Mallards in Madison, Wis. during the summer of 2009 for coach CJ Thieleke.

High School: Earned four varsity letters at Racine Lutheran High School for coach Bob Mallwitz ... he earned all-conference honors three times during his four season ... was an all-county honoree two times as well ... also was a two-time all-conference and all-county performer in football as well as an all-conference and all-county honoree in basketball.

Personal: Christopher Wayne Barker ... born July 25, 1988 in Racine, Wis. ... son of Chris and Kathy Barker ... has two sisters, Danielle and Allison ... also recruited by Western Carolina and Iowa ... majoring in communication studies at UNCG.
