Eric Winkler joined UNCG women's soccer as an assistant coach in July of 2024.
Winkler comes to Greensboro after working as the director of goalkeeping for the North Carolina Fusion Girls ECNL since 2023. In addition, Winkler started working as the USLW goalkeeper coach and Salem City USL2 goalkeeper coach this year. Winkler has also served as the Salem City USL2 goalkeeper coach for the past three years, leading the 2021 team as national finalists.
In addition, he has had quite an extensive playing career himself. He played all four years of high school at Page High School and played one season at Mars Hill before transferring to Louisburg College for three more seasons.
