Fall 2021 (Senior): Earned a start in 26 of the 29 matches appeared in (111 sets)… Set a season-high 18 digs at Furman (10/9) … Set a career-high three aces at Chattanooga (9/24) … Finished fourth on the team in digs with 284… Averaged 2.56 digs per set… Had 15 matches with 10+ digs… Had two matches with multiple kills… Set a season-high two kills against American (9/4) and Wofford (10/8)… Finished her career with 943 digs, 76 assists, 55 kills, and 47 aces in 95 matches played…


Spring 2021 (Junior): Played in 17 matches and 66 sets … Her 197 digs were third on the team … Averaged 2.98 digs per set … Had nine matches this season in which she had double-digit digs … Had a season best 26 digs in a win over Furman … Had 18 digs against Samford (March 22) and Western Carolina (March 29) … Had 36 kills for the season …. Season best eight kills in a win over Furman (March 1) … Had seven kills against Furman (Feb. 28) and Western Carolina (March 29).

2019 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 31 matches, playing in 107 sets… recorded the third-highest amount of digs for the Spartans with 290 digs … averaged 2.71 per set (2nd best on the team) … recorded 19 assists throughout the season … double-digit digs in 15 matches … recorded her first double-digit digs against Presbyterian (Aug. 31) with 10 …  season-high 22 digs against Western Carolina (Oct. 25) ...recorded one kill, two assists and 18 digs against UIW (Sept. 7) … season-high three assists against Elon (Sept. 20) along with 13 digs… put up 15 digs on three separate occasions against Georgetown (Sept. 14), ETSU (Sept. 28), as well as against Mercer (Oct. 19) … 16 digs against Iona (Sept. 14). 

2018 (Freshman): Proved to be a solid contributor on the back row for UNCG, recording the fifth-most digs (172) and second-highest digs / set (3.37) in 51 sets played … made her collegiate debut against Air Force (Aug. 24), finishing with three digs in the five-set victory … finished with five digs in a sweep of Delaware State (Sept. 8) … emerged with eight digs and a service ace in UNCG’s match at Kansas (Sept. 15) … had her first multi-dig performance in a conference game (four) at Furman (Oct. 12) … followed that with an eight-dig performance at Wofford (Oct. 13) … responsible for nine digs in a five-set battle against Mercer (Oct. 19) … manned the back row for eight digs in a three-set victory over The Citadel (Oct. 20) … reached double-digit digs for the first time (11) in a four-set showdown against Western Carolina (Oct. 24) … exploded for 21 digs and a service ace in a four-set match at Chattanooga (Oct. 27) … anchored the Spartans’ defensive effort with 13 digs at East Tennessee State (Oct. 31) … experienced her first of three consecutive matches with at least 20 digs against Wofford (Nov. 9), finishing with 21 against the Terriers … closed out the regular season with 26 digs in a battle with Furman (Nov. 10), helping her to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors from the Southern Conference … continued her solid play at the Southern Conference Tournament, capping off the season with 22 digs against Furman (Nov. 16).

Prior To UNCG: Garvens lettered all four seasons under head coach Michelle Bruss at Oconomowoc High Raccoons ... as a freshman, she played as a defensive specialist before moving to an outside hitter role over her final three seasons ... was a two-time All-Little 10 Conference selection before Oconomowoc moved to the Classic 8 Conference in 2017, where she also earned all-conference honors ... in 2015, she led Oconomowoc to its first-ever conference title before a second-place finish at the Wisconsin state tournament ... led her team to a Classic 8 Conference championship in Oconomowoc’s first year in the league before finishing third at the state tournament ... twice earned all-state honors and was a team-captain in her junior and season seasons ... was named team MVP for her efforts during her senior campaign and was a scholar-athlete all four years.

With the Sting, she played for head coach Amy Wagner for seven seasons ... the Sting won numerous tournaments throughout her time and placed in the top seven at the open division at nationals for four-straight seasons ... also competed in sand doubles competitions where her volleyball success continued.

Personal: She plans to major in business or engineering at UNCG and is the daughter of Joe and Sherry Garvens.
