UNC Greensboro

Freshman Season

Saw action in 31 games as a reserve in 2004...put away 34 kills for a 1.10 per game average...also came up with 56 digs (1.81 per game) and seven blocks defensively and dished out 14 assists...had a season-high 11 kills against only three attack errors for a .348 hitting percentage against Oakland (9/18/04)...recorded 12 digs against both UW-Green Bay (9/18/04) and Morgan State (9/24/04).

High School

Earned three varsity letters as an outside hitter for Airport High School...was a two-time All-Huron League selection...led her squad to the Huron League, District and Regional Championships...as a team captain during her senior season, she received all-region recognition...also garnered all-state honorable mention plaudits...named to the 2004 Monroe Evening News All-Tournament Team...earned two varsity letters as a forward on the basketball team.

Club

Played three seasons with Borderline volleyball club of Temperance, MI, which had a third place showing at the AAU Nationals.

Ashley Anne Smith...born on October 22, 1986, in Monroe, MI...daughter of Alan and Beverly Smith...chose UNCG over Stony Brook and Chattanooga...major is undecided.
