Biography

2005: Saw action in 49 games, appearing as a starter in 47...posted a .262 batting average...finished fourth on the team with 24 runs scored and 43 hits...tied for second on the club with 11 doubles...recorded three home runs and 23 RBI...opened the season against Delaware with a 2-for-4 showing with a double...hit his first roundtripper of the season in a 2-for-4 showing against The Citadel (Mar. 12)...also scored a season-high three runs in that game with the Bulldogs...went 2-for-4 with three RBI in the second game of a doubleheader with Georgia Southern (Apr. 9)...swiped a season-high two bases in a Feb. 26 contest with James Madison...walked four times against Ohio (Mar. 4)...went 2-for-4 with three RBI in consecutive games against Elon (Apr. 23, 24)...smacked a double and a homer in a 2-for-3 performance with two RBI in a 6-3 win over Appalachian State.

 

2004: Sat out the 2004 season due to an injury...obtained a medical redshirt.

 

2003: Started 47 of 49 games for the Spartans at shortstop; missed last six entering SoCon Tournament...went 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI against UNC Asheville (Apr. 30)...went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and RBI against Appalachian State (Apr. 26)...smacked two-run home run, first of career, against Wofford (Apr. 20)...went 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and triple in the first game of a doubleheader with Western Carolina (Apr. 12)...went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI against VMI (Apr. 5)...went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI against Eastern Kentucky (Mar. 29)...went 1-for-2 with a run scored and three RBI against Cornell (Mar. 18)...broke out of a 3-for-33 slump with five hits in the two-game series at Virginia; added two RBI and registered just second career three-hit effort in opener...had at least one RBI in each of UNCG’s first three games.

 

2002:  Missed seven games in 2002 due to injury...fourth on UNCG with five sacrifice bunts and 13 stolen bases...went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in the 12-5 victory over Virginia (Apr. 20)...followed first career three-hit effort with two more hits (Apr. 10) against EKU...was 3-for-3 with an RBI against EKU (Apr. 9)...went 2-for-5 with two RBI in 8-7 loss to Davidson (Mar. 24)...picked up his first multiple hit game of the season in the 9-1 rout of ETSU (Mar. 17)...made a phenomenal defensive play in the hole behind second base in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure the victory versus NC A&T (Feb. 12).

 

High School: Earned four varsity letters at Statesville Senior HS...was named all-conference and all-county three times...participated in the North Carolina State Games three times...also played in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game...2001 County Player of the Year...two-time team MVP...also played summer ball for the Catawba Valley Stars...team was ranked as high as fifth in the national rankings.
