Women's soccer battles Penn to 3-3 tie

PRINCETON, NJ - The UNC Greensboro women's soccer team and Penn battled to a 3-3 tie in the final day of action at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

The Quakers (2-0-2) were first on the board after Katy Cross scored off a pass from sophomore Carolyn Cross. UNC Greensboro quickly responded, taking a 2-1 lead into halftime as junior Rakel Logadottir and sophomore Amy Carnell scored off passes from freshman Shannon Donovan.

Katy Cross scored twice more after intermission off crosses from sophomore Jenna Linden as Penn erased a 2-1 halftime deficit. UNC Greensboro's Cheryl Stewart tied it at 3-3 with 36 minutes to go in regulation on Donovan's third assist of the game.

Sophomore Jennifer Stillman recorded 10 saves on the afternoon. Stillman finished the Princeton Invitational with a total of 24 saves.

UNCG (2-2-2) returns to action on Friday, Sept. 19, against ACC foe Wake Forest at 7 p.m. at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.
