STATESBORO, GA – Theresa Hart and Kaitlyn Nortz combined for 45 kills to lead UNC Greensboro to a come-from-behind 3-2 victory at Georgia Southern in Southern Conference women's volleyball action Saturday evening at Hanner Fieldhouse.
UNCG (13-7, 4-4 SoCon) won by scores of 26-30, 27-30, 30-25, 30-24 and 15-12.
Hart recorded a match-high 26 kills and 17 digs, while Nortz had 21 kills and four blocks. Freshman Branagan Fuller added 14 kills, while junior Lauren Keiser had 11 kills.
Freshman Lisa Fawell dished out 74 assists in the win, which was one shy of the school record set by Liz Gremillion at Campbell on September 30, 1994.
The Eagles (8-6, 2-4 SoCon) won the opening two games of the match, before the Spartans stormed back to win the final three games to notch their second straight road conference victory and third win overall in the last four matches.
Sophomore Christy Dowd reached double-digit kills and digs with 16 and 10, respectively for the Eagles. Bailey Coleman also notched 16 kills for the Eagles.
UNCG returns home to host non-conference foe Liberty on Tuesday at Fleming Gym at 7 pm.
