JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The UNCG women's soccer team fell behind early and couldn't recover falling on the road at ETSU, 3-1, Sunday at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

The Spartans fall to 8-6-3, 4-2-1 in conference play while ETSU improves to 14-4, 6-2 in SoCon play.

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, UNCG cut the lead to 2-1 at halftime but ETSU scored an insurance goal in the 58^th minute to hold on to a 3-1 victory. Sarah Zadrazil gathered the ball outside the box and fired a shot into the back of the net for her eighth goal of the season.

In the second half, the Blue and Gold had a couple of chances but couldn't convert as sophomore Georgia Brown (Dunedin, New Zealand/St. Hilda's Collegiate) took a shot on goal but ETSU keeper Anna Yancey made the save.

Junior Tracy Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) had a scoring opportunity late but Yancey stopped her shot attempt on goal.

In the first half, the Spartans had three shots in the early going but couldn't find the back of the net.

In the 30^th minute, a hand ball inside the box led to a penalty kick for ETSU but redshirt freshman goalkeeper Chloe Buehler (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg/Penn State) made the save to keep the Bucs off the scoreboard.

A minute later, Simona Koren took a shot that was defected into the net to give ETSU a 1-0 lead. Sarah Zadrazil was credited with the assist.

ETSU took a 2-0 lead after earning another penalty kick off a foul inside the box as Emilee Engelhaupt just beat Buehler to the lower right corner.

In the 41^st minute, UNCG cut the lead to 2-1 after a goal from sophomore Katelyn Mountjoy (Highland Village, Texas/Marcus) who scored inside the box past the keeper. Junior Chesney White (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin) earned the assist after a back pass to Mountjoy who finished her second goal of the season.
