Women's Soccer Welcomes Chattanooga & Samford

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's soccer team returns home to take on Chattanooga Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. and ends the weekend against Samford Sunday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.

Both games will be live Free of charge on the Southern Conference Digital Network. UNCG holds a 14-3-1 record against Chattanooga and is 4-2-1 versus Samford all-time.

The Spartans (6-4-3, 2-0-1 SoCon) are coming off a 4-1 victory on the road at VMI last weekend. UNCG is 4-0-2 in its last six games outscoring opponents 15-5 in those contests.

Junior Chesney White (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin) scored her 10th goal of the season against the Keydets and is now 11th in the nation in total goals. White leads the team with 23 points (10 goals, three assists) and 58 shots. Classmate Candice Forbes (Pleasant Garden, N.C./Southeast Guilford) is second on the team with three goals. Sophomore Rebecca Burrows (Auckland, New Zealand/Mount Albert Grammer School) picked up her second goal of the season at VMI to go along with two assists.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Chloe Buehler (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg/Penn State) has played in 11 games while junior Kirsten Glad (Germantown, Md./St. John's College) has played in five. Buehler has two shutouts, 53 saves and Glad has 20 saves with a 0.93 goals against average.

Chattanooga has lost three straight games to open up conference play getting outscored 12-1 and is 0-4 on the road this season. Crystal Mackezyk leads the team with seven goals and one assist while Gregg McKenzie has three goals on the season. Hannah Dunn has played eight games in goal making 73 saves but has given up 30 goals.

Samford is 7-6, 2-1 in the conference after going 1-1 last weekend against ETSU (L, 3-1) and Western Carolina (W, 4-1). The Bulldogs responded after taking a loss against the Bucs to defeat the Catamounts 4-1 last Sunday. Jermaine Seoposenwe leads the team with six goals and three assists while sophomore Malcanisha Kelley has chipped in with five goals. Freshman Anna Maddox has played 13 games in net posting 58 saves and two shutouts.

At every UNCG women's soccer game there will be soccer inflatables with various activities for all ages. Also at every Friday game this season one lucky fan has a chance to win a prize pack simply by tweeting a picture of themselves @UNCGWSoccer with the #letsgoG included in the tweet. The contestants will be chosen at random and the winner will be announced at halftime of the game. Finally one lucky youth team will be invited out to each home women's soccer game.
