Men's Basketball Hosts Chattanooga Saturday On Senior Day

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's basketball team closes out the regular season Saturday evening as the Spartans host Southern Conference foe Chattanooga. Game time is set for 5 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum. Prior to the game, the Spartans will honor their senior class in Jamal Mitchell (Charlotte, N.C./Gardner-Webb) and Nicholas Paulos (Salt Lake City, Utah/New Hampton School) prior to the game with Senior Night festivities.

Saturday's game will be broadcast on the SoCon Digital Network in full HD for free. Additionally, the game will be broadcast on 1320 AM and online with the TuneIn App with Tim Bickford and Darryl Kosciak providing the call.

The Spartans enter the final game of the regular season with their Southern Conference Tournament seeding up in the air as they can be anywhere from the No. 6-10 seeds. Only the top three seeds in the SoCon Tournament have been set overall with Wofford the No. 1, Chattanooga the No. 2 and Mercer the No. 3.

UNCG can move up to the No. 6 seed and secure the final bye if they pick up a win Saturday and VMI loses at home to Samford. The Spartans can also be a No. 7 or No. 8 seed with a win, depending on the outcome of the VMI-Samford game and The Citadel-Western Carolina game. With a loss, the Spartans can only been seeds No. 8-10 and that depends on the two previous games along with the Furman-Wofford contest.

The Spartans trail the all-time series by a 16-20 margin, but have won six out of the last eight meetings, including the last three matchups at the Greensboro Coliseum.
