Men's Basketball Adds Transfer Justin Jordan To Program

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men's basketball head coach Wes Miller announced the addition of midseason transfer guard Justin Jordan (Davidson, N.C./UW Milwaukee) to the program. Jordan is enrolled at UNCG and will have to sit out two semesters due to NCAA transfer rules. He will be eligible to join the team after the first semester in the 2016-17 season.

Jordan played 34 career games at UW Milwaukee, four this season as a sophomore and all 30 last year as a true freshmen. He made 15 starts for the Panthers last season, scoring in double figures for times. He averaged 5.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game in 21.4 minutes per game.

Jordan opened his collegiate career in impressive fashion, scoring 11 points off the bench against Auburn, hitting 5-of-7 from the field. He was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week following his performance against the Tigers. He scored a career-high 17 points against Wright State (Jan. 20), as he was 6-of-7 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers. He finished his freshman year with 22 3-pointers, connecting on 32.4 percent from distance but hit 41.7 percent at home.

Jordan attended Hargrave Military Academy in 2013-14, averaging 13 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds and 4 steals per game. He was named a Prep School East Region First Team All-Defense selection while shooting 58 percent from the field, 37 percent from 3-point land and 89 percent from the foul line.

Jordan played at Davidson Day School prior to Hargrave and averaging a team-high 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as a senior. He helped guide Davidson Day to a conference championship and a NCISAA 2A state runner-up finish in 2011-12 with a 32-4 record. He was named All-Southern Piedmont Athletic Association as a senior. Additionally, he played AAU basketball for the Carolina Surge, averaging 17.5 points and 8.0 assists per game in 2014.

Jordan is the son of Larry and Angela Jordan. His father Larry played for the Chicago Express in the World Basketball League. He is the nephew of NBA Hall of Famer and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan.
