GREENSBORO, N.C- The UNCG softball team (12-9) hits the road for its first road games since February 20, when the Spartans head Wilmington, N.C., for the Hampton Inn and Suites Seahawk Softball Invitational hosted by UNCW Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13. Admission for each day's games can be purchased on the day of the game at Boseman Field.
The Spartans begin the weekend with a 12 p.m. game against the host Seahawks (13-7) and will have a quick turnaround to face Presbyterian (10-8) at 2:30 p.m. UNCG will play its final game at 9:30 a.m. Sunday against Presbyterian.
UNCG leads the all-time series against UNCW 36-15-1. The Spartans have won nine of the last ten meetings and are 4-1 since head coach Janelle Breneman took over in Greensboro.
Against Presbyterian, UNCG leads the all-time series 1-0 with its only game coming since Breneman has been head coach.
UNCW is 12-6 at home this season and begin an 11-game home stand this weekend. The Blue Host of Presbyterian is 6-3 in neutral site games and 3-5 on the road as Presbyterian has only played one game at home in 2016.
UNCG is 4-3 in neutral site games and 0-2 in away games.
