WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Taking to the JDL Fast Track for the second time in as many weeks, UNCG men's track & field represented the Blue and Gold well Friday at the Camel City Invitational.
The top finisher on the day was Luke Sumerford (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley), who garnered fifth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:26.16. Teammates Patrick O'Grady (Roswell, Ga./Blessed Trinity) and David Guthrie (Fayetteville/South View) weren't far behind, finishing 11th (15:38.33) and 12th (15:38.35), respectively.
In the 60 meter hurdles, Jeffery Beane (Asheboro, N.C./Asheboro) came in at 8.75 for 30th, while Dakarai Shipp (Raleigh, N.C./Millbrook) and Alex Roy (Clayton, N.C./Clayton) placed 33rd (4:28.43) and 39th (4:30.04), respectively, in the mile.
William Sandin's (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) 2:01.61 in the 800 meters placed him in 33rd-place. A few seconds later, Trelek Jones came in at 52nd with a time of 2:06.99.
