Marvin Smith Selected In NBA G League Draft By Windy City Bulls

GREENSBORO, N.C.- One of the best players in UNC Greensboro's men's basketball history has landed in the Windy City.

With the No. 64 pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft, the Windy City Bulls selected former UNCG forward Marvin Smith Jr. The G League is a minor league system for the NBA with players having the opportunity to get called up to the professional level.

In four seasons with the Spartans, Smith appeared in 123 games with 111 starts, averaging 9.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. During his senior season, Smith became the 25th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark, doing so in a victory over VMI. Additionally, Smith ranks seventh in program history threes made (200).

In UNCG's first NCAA Tournament game in 17 years against Gonzaga this past March, the Richmond, Va., native scored four points along with grabbing seven rebounds.

Below is some of the reaction on Twitter to Smith's selection:

The Bulls' first game takes place against the Lakeland Magic on Nov. 2.
