GREENVILLE, S.C. – UNC Greensboro men's basketball will begin a road swing through the state of South Carolina on Thursday night when the Spartans take on Furman.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
Five Facts To Know
--The Spartans will look to tie the second-longest winning streak in program history against Furman. The 2016-17 team won nine consecutive games from Feb. 4-March 5 that season. After compiling a six-game winning streak in November and a seven-game winning streak across December and January, UNCG is currently riding an eight-game winning streak that started against Furman on Jan. 12.
--UNCG has also won its last six outing on the road, which is tied for the second longest road winning streak in the country. No. 1 Tennessee currently has the longest road winning streak at eight games. Through Tuesday night's action, only two teams in Division I have reached double-digit road win totals (Stony Brook and UC Irvine). UNCG currently has nine road victories.
--The Spartans are No. 1 in the entire country in turnover margin (6.6). FIU is second in the statistical category at 6.0 with Auburn in third at 5.2.
--Through Tuesday's action, UNCG is one of only seven teams in the country with 22 victories on the season, joining No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Gonzaga, No. 6 Michigan, No. 7 Nevada and No. 9 Houston.
--Furman, a team that was one point ranked in the AP Top 25 this season, enters the game with a 20-5 overall record. The Paladins are also in third place in the Southern Conference at 9-4. Entering Thursday's tilt, Furman is currently riding a four-game winning streak with all four victories coming by at least 10 points.
The Spartans This Season
UNCG (22-3, 11-1) is off to its best overall and conference start in program history. After winning a program-record 11 non-conference games, the Spartans have been victors in 11 of their first 12 SoCon games this year.
Individually, senior guard Francis Alonso (17.2) and sophomore guard Isaiah Miller (15.2) have paced the Spartans in scoring. Miller's scoring has taken a significant step forward during conference play, as he's reached the 20-point mark seven times against SoCon opponents already. Additionally, he's scored at least 20 points in four straight games, the best stretch of his career.
Defensively, Miller is seventh in the country in steals per game (2.84).
Series History
This will be 35th meeting between the two schools dating back to their first time sharing a court on Feb. 17, 1998, as UNCG holds the advantage in the all-time series 18-16. The Spartans have won the last four meetings between the two SoCon foes including a 10-point victory in their first meeting this season.

The Spartans will close out the weekend's action on Saturday night facing the SoCon leaders Wofford at the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m.
