SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNC Greensboro softball's Stephanie Bryden was named Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday. Bryden threw a four-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts in the Spartans' home-opening 5-0 win over Oakland last Wednesday.

Bryden allowed only five batters to reach base with just one walk allowed. The 12-strikeout performance was the eighth game of her career with at least 10 strikeouts. She also hit a RBI-double.

UNCG faces Longwood Monday to finish off its home tournament, the UNCG Invitational, in a doubleheader starting at 2:30 p.m.
