Box Score 2 GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro softball (8-6) split a doubleheader against Longwood (8-3) in the final day of the UNCG Invitational, winning the first game 3-2 before falling 2-0 Monday at UNCG Softball Stadium. Delaney Cumbie hit a one-out, two-run homer, the first of her collegiate career, to deliver the Spartans their second-straight walk-off victory.
In the first game Longwood scored a run in each of the last three innings, but UNCG earned the comeback win with a pair of two-run homers. In the sixth inning, Katie Stettler led off with a single to left field, and Marisa Sholtes initially tied the game up with a homer to left center, her third of the year.
Jasmine Palmer was hit by a pitch to start the final inning before Cumbie hit the walk-off homer.
The Spartans had seven hits in the next game but left six on base and twice ended an inning on a double play. The Lancers broke through with an RBI-double in the fifth inning and added another run in the seventh.
UNCG returns to action next Friday-Sunday in the Chapel Hill Classic.

- Stephanie Bryden (6-3) had her fourth complete game of the season and allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks with eight strikeouts.
- Kylie Bouplon threw her second complete game and gave up two runs, seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
- Three freshmen all finished with two hits: Kamryn Graves, Gabi Howard and Cumbie. Graves got her first collegiate hit on a single in her first at-bat in the second game and then hit a double in the seventh inning.
