Spartans Win Sixth Straight In Comeback Over VMI

LEXINGTON, Va.  – UNCG men's basketball secures a season-best sixth consecutive win on Saturday, completing the season sweep of VMI in a 71-68 final in Lexington. The Spartans were boosted by a double-double effort from Kyrin Galloway, along with Isaiah Miller's 12th 20-plus point performance of the season.

The Keydets led by as many as nine points in the first half, with the night's lead change switching hands 11 times in the opening 20 minutes alone. Miller poured in 14 of his 23 points in the opening period while hitting 5-of-10 from the floor, while Galloway collected 10 points and seven boards.

Taking a 38-35 lead into halftime, VMI were in front for nearly the entirety of the second half, before finally giving up their lead with 2:26 remaining. The Keydets jumped out in front by as many as 11 points at the 8:26 mark, but the Spartans responded with a 14-2 run to get back out in front. UNCG closed out the night on a 12-2 run to deliver its 71-68 victory, grabbing their sixth straight win on Saturday night.

With their defeat of VMI, the Spartans move to 13-3 in conference play, just one off the SoCon leading ETSU Buccaneers. The side is currently on a six-game winning streak, its longest of the year, and have a total of nine road wins on the season.

-- With another 12 boards, James Dickey now has 1,037 rebounds for his career, and sits just 11 away from setting a new Spartan program record. With his nine points he is also just 19 away from becoming just the second player in SoCon history to score 1,000 points, pull down 1,000 rebounds and register 200 blocks in a career

-- The Spartans outrebounded VMI 49 to 37, with Dickey (12), Galloway (10) and Miller (8) combining for 30

-- UNCG's work on the boards grabbed the side a total of 18 offensive rebounds on the night, with 20 of the Spartans' 71 points coming off second chance opportunities

-- With nine wins away from Greensboro this year's Spartan squad now has the third-most road wins in program history
