GREENSBORO -- Redshirt sophomore Hanna Giddings kept her perfect record in singles intact, but UNCG's four-match winning streak ended Saturday afternoon as Wofford defeated the host Spartans 5-2 in UNCG's first home SoCon match of 2021.

Giddings defeated Wofford's Liz Massie 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 in their match at third singles. Giddings is 5-0 in singles so far this season.

UNCG senior Brianna Gomez lost to Wofford's Lilie Steryous 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 at second singles. Gomez is now 4-1 in singles matches.

The Spartans won the doubles point for their second straight contest, taking two of three pairings.

Giddings and Sophia Adams won at first doubles, beating Jenna Vroman and Steryous 7-5. UNCG's Tayah Cross and Emily Ory won at second doubles, beating Massie and Emely Kahrs 6-3.

UNCG hosts Samford on Friday.
