How it Happened:

- UNCG continued to control the majority of the first half, but Hight Point registered five shots, including a strike from Skyler Prillaman that sailed wide left past the post in the 18th minute.
- Sophomore Caroline Woods was the Spartan's offense in the second half, as she recorded two of the three shots on net in the second half.
- Tyler-Cooper held strong for UNCG in net, totaling four of her eight saves on the night in the second half.
- In the 104th minute, the Panthers saw a free kick from about 30 yards out that was initially cleared by the Spartans, but it was put back in, as Tyler-Cooper dove to her right to punch the ball out.
- For the third time in the game, the Panthers held the shot advantage, outshooting the Spartans 5-0 in the second overtime.
From the Coaches' Box/Michael Coll, Head Women's Soccer Coach
On His Team's Performance
- "Good performance, High Point won their regular season last year and everyone is pegging them to win it this year," stated Head Coach Michael Coll. "They have a lot of graduate students playing, so to match them was a great performance from us"
On the Key Word - Aggression
- "We talked about being really aggressive the last couple of days at practice, we should be aggressive. The home team should be aggressive. We needed to show more aggression than some of the games at home last year. Very proud of them for that."
On His Team's Chemistry
- "This team is very together. The camaraderie of this team is awesome. They are all stepping up. The leaders are taking the leadership and when they speak everyone listens. The younger players are talking too, and they are trying to lead in their own way."
On Sunday's Game Against Elon
- "Elon won the Colonial and they lost in the NCAAs. Elon is going to be extremely good as well, so we are expecting just as tough of a battle from Elon just like we got tonight from High Point."
Up Next:
UNCG will travel to Elon, North Carolina to face their second of eight non-conference opponents this season in Elon University on Sunday, August 22 with a 7:00 p.m. start time at Rudd Field.
