GREENSBORO, N.C. – After taking a week off from play, the UNC Greensboro women's soccer team looks forward to hosting James Madison University Thursday night at the UNCG Soccer Stadium at 7:00 p.m., as it continues its' non-conference schedule.

ABOUT THE SPARTANS
  • Senior Nicole Souply leads the Spartans with two goals and four points, while junior Maddy Gilhool follows with one goal and one assist for three points.
  • Senior Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper returns in net for UNCG, as she was named SoCon Goalkeeper of the Week for back-to-back shutouts to open the season.  
  • UNCG was picked to finish fifth in the SoCon Preseason Poll.
  • Senior Kayla Campbell was the lone Spartan to be named to the 2020-21 Preseason All-SoCon team. She led all defenders in 2019 with five goals, while being a force on the back line helping UNCG to six clean sheets. 
SPARTANS' LAST TIME OUT
  • In its third game in eight days, the UNC Greensboro women's soccer team fell to in-state foe NC State Thursday night at UNCG Soccer Stadium, as the Wolfpack blanked the Spartans 3-0.
  • This was the first time all season that the Spartans have totaled more corners than their opponents, 5-4.
SCOUTING JAMES MADISON
  • Three Dukes have scored two goals, including Lexi Vanderlinden, Ebony Wiseman, and Hannah Coulling.
  • Vanderlinden and Wiseman have also both added two assists, typing for the team lead in points, with six.
  • Alexandra Blom has spent the majority of time in goal for JMU, making 23 saves and posts a 2.04 goals against average.
  • Ginger Deel and Ebony Wiseman were both selected to the Preseason All-CAA Team as honorable mentions.
  • The Dukes were picked fifth to win the Colonial Athletic Association, following Hofstra, Elon, UNCW, and Northeastern.
DUKES' LAST TIME OUT
  • The James Madison women's soccer team fell to No. 3 Virginia, 2-0, as they wrapped up the Fairfield by Marriott Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Sentara Park.
  • Virginia dominated the game with 16 shots to James Madison's two on the day. The Cavaliers tallied nine corner kicks to the Dukes' one.

  • UNCG hosts Campbell University on Sunday, September 12 to wrap up the Spartans' three-game homestand, with a start time of 7:00 p.m.
  • The Spartans will honor their 10 seniors prior to the match on Sunday.
  • James Madison heads to High Point University for a Sunday afternoon contest on September 12.
