SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team will be featured in one of five regular-season Southern Conference (SoCon) men's basketball games to be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network this season.
The Spartans will travel to Chattanooga on Saturday, February 18 for a game at noon on CBS Sports Network. The contest was originally scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Yesterday, the SoCon announced that the Spartans would host ETSU on Tuesday, February 7 on ESPNU for a 7 p.m. game at the Greensboro Coliseum. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 8.
"Our partnership with CBS Sports Network has allowed us to increase our total national linear television exposure and in turn assist in building our national success as a top-12-rated conference and enhance our brand," SoCon Commissioner Jim Schaus said.
Defending SoCon regular-season and tournament champion Chattanooga will host consecutive Saturday games on CBS Sports Network on Feb. 11 and Feb. 18. The Mocs, who went 27-8 overall and 14-4 in SoCon play in 2021-22, welcome Mercer (16-17, 8-10 SoCon) on Feb. 11 and UNCG (17-15, 9-9) the following weekend.
The first game in the package will be Saturday, January 28 when Samford visits Wofford at 2 p.m.
UNCG begins its 2022-23 season against Johnson & Wales (N.C.) as part of a double feature on Monday, November 7. The men will play first at 5:00 p.m. in Fleming Gym, while the women will follow at 7:30 p.m. against Guilford College.
The SoCon's CBS Sports Network slate wraps up on the final day of the regular season, Saturday, Feb. 25. The matchup for that contest will be determined 10-14 days prior to the contest.
