GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team hosts Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Furman University tomorrow, Friday, November 11 in Fleming Gym.

Prior to the match, the Spartans will recognize its three seniors: Hannah Knier, Gabriela McHugh, and Elayne Grisbee.

• UNCG sixth in the SoCon opponent hitting percentage (.207) and blocks per set (1.87).
• Ella Voegele is third in digs per set (4.40).
• Gabriela McHugh is fifth in assists per set (8.74).
• Daija Jackson is third in hitting percentage (0.300).

LAST TIME OUT

• The Spartans dropped fell 3-0 to Western Carolina.  
• Daija Jackson and Mya Wood each had seven kills to lead UNCG.
• Gabriela McHugh tallied 17 assists along with eight digs.
• Jocelyn Carter led the team with two blocks and added three kills.
• Ella Voegele registered 12 digs.
• Taylor Robertson recorded nine digs.

TOURNAMENT AWARDS

• At the Spartan-Aggie Tournament (August 26-27), Mya Wood and Gabriela McHugh were named to the All-Tournament Team.
• Following the Tussle in the Triad Tournament (September 2-3), Taylor Robertson and Ella Voegele earned the honors.
• Robertson and Voegele also were named to the All-Tournament Team after the Aggie/Phoenix Volley for Unity Tournament.
• Robertson was most recently named to the Chucktown Throwdown All-Tournament Team.

SOCON PRESEASON POLL
UNCG was voted to finish sixth in the Southern Conference (SoCon) Preseason Coaches' Poll.

SCOUTING FURMAN

• Furman has lost three-straight matches.
• Mary Beth Headley leads the team with 3.11 kills per set.
• Kelsey Watkins leads the Paladins with 1.05 blocks per set.
• Furman is fourth in the SoCon in blocks per set as a team averaging 2.09.
• The Paladins are also fifth in the SoCon in digs per set averaging 15.40.

ALL-TIME HISTORY

• Furman leads the all-time series over UNCG 37-18.
• The Paladins defeated the Spartans 3-0 last time out on October 15 in Greenville, S.C.

UP NEXT

• The Spartans will await their fate in the 2022 SoCon Tournament as conference foes wrap up the regular season on Saturday.
• The Tournament begins November14 with the first round, hosted by the No. 8 seed. Following that game, Furman will serve as the host at Timmons Arena in Greenville, South Carolina from November 18-20.
