GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team makes the short trip to Elon to take on the Phoenix inside the Schar Center.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Spartans claimed a 72-54 win over Radford Wednesday afternoon inside Fleming Gymnasium.
  • Five UNCG players notched double-figure scoring with Nasia Powell (16) leading the way.
  • Khalis Cain (13), Nia Howard (12), Nitzan Amar (12), and Akira Wiggins (10) rounded out the Spartans' double-figure scorers.
  • Powell made the Spartans' first two three-point field goals of the contest and added three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
  • Cain went 5-of-7 from the field and posted 15 rebounds, seven on the offensive end. The center added four blocks.

  • The Phoenix are fresh off a 60-57 victory at home over High Point this past Sunday afternoon after Ajia James made two three-point field goals in the final 1:22 of the contest.
  • Lenaejha Evans led Elon with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting while adding three steals.
  • Evonna McGill added 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting and 5 rebounds.
  • James totaled 12 points off the bench on 4-of-7 shooting, all from three-point range.
  • McGill leads the Phoenix in scoring, averaging 12 points per game while adding 5.7 rebounds.
  • Elon's record is 1-2 with losses to Wake Forest (76-56) and NC State (89-55) to open the season.
  • The Phoenix finished 2021-22 17-12 overall with a 9-9 record in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play.
