GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team hits the road for two Southern Conference (SoCon) matches this weekend.
The Spartans will travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee to take on the Chattanooga Mocs on Friday, November 4 and then remain in the state to challenge ETSU in Johnson City on Saturday, November 5.

UNCG: 10-15, 4-8 SoCon
Chattanooga: 13-14, 7-5 SoCon
ETSU: 17-7, 11-1 SoCon
 
SPARTAN STATS IN THE SOCON
  • UNCG is third in the SoCon opponent hitting percentage (.200)
  • Ella Voegele is second in total digs (372).
  • Gabriela McHugh is fourth in total assists (745).
  • Daija Jackson is second in hitting percentage (0.328).
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Spartans split their matches last weekend, defeating The Citadel 3-0, but falling to Wofford 0-3.
  • McHugh posted 28 assists along with five kills and nine digs.
  • Mya Wood added six kills, seven digs, and two service aces.
  • Jocelyn Carter posted six kills with a .357 hitting percentage while adding five digs and two blocking assists.
  • Voegele led the back row with 12 digs.
  • The Spartans held a 46-43 edge in digs over the Terriers.
TOURNAMENT AWARDS
  • At the Spartan-Aggie Tournament (August 26-27), Mya Wood and Gabriela McHugh were named to the All-Tournament Team.
  • Following the Tussle in the Triad Tournament (September 2-3), Taylor Robertson and Ella Voegele earned the honors.
  • Robertson and Voegele also were named to the All-Tournament Team after the Aggie/Phoenix Volley for Unity Tournament.
  • Robertson was most recently named to the Chucktown Throwdown All-Tournament Team.
SOCON PRESEASON POLL
UNCG was voted to finish sixth in the Southern Conference (SoCon) Preseason Coaches' Poll.

  • Chattanooga most recently fell to Mercer, 0-3, putting the all-time series at 19-18, the Mocs still with the lead.
  • Chattanooga is second in the SoCon for digs, averaging 16.25 per game.
  • Natalie Tyson is fourth in the conference with 362 total kills.
  • Paige Gallentine is second in the SoCon with 462 digs.
ALL-TIME HISTORY
  • The Mocs lead the all-time series over the Spartans 29-23.
  • UNCG fell to Chattanooga 1-3 on October 8.
SCOUTING ETSU
  • ETSU will face off against Western Carolina before welcoming the Spartans to Brooks Gym.
  • They are coming off a 3-1 win over Samford, putting them on a five-game winning streak.
  • Caroline Dykes is third in the SoCon for assists per set (9.18) and fifth in service aces per set (0.36).
  • Lundyn Coffman is second in the SoCon averaging 1.03 blocks per set and leads the team in hitting percentage (.269), which is sixth in the conference.
  • Brianna Cantrell is ninth in the SoCon averaging 3.01 kills per set, to lead the Buccaneers.
  • Among the SoCon, ETSU is second in blocks (198), second in opponent hitting percentage (.194), third in assists per set (11.76) and hitting percentage (.221), and fourth in kills per set (12.67).
