GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team hits the road for a pair of weekend matches against Appalachian State and South Carolina.
 
UNCG starts the weekend at Appalachian State on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lake Hickory Country Club. The Spartans take on South Carolina Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Carolina Tennis Center in Columbia.
 
A Look At UNCG
	- The Spartans beat Appalachian State last year, 4-3.
 
	- UNCG dropped a 5-2 decision to Richmond in its last match.
 
	- The No. 1 doubles tandem of Erika Barquero and Ariana Chan won their match against Richmond.
 
	- They have three doubles wins in five matches to lead UNCG.
 
	- These will be UNCG's third and fourth road matches this season.
 
	- UNCG defeated North Carolina Central, 4-3, for its only victory this season.
 
 
A Look At Appalachian State
	- The Mountaineers are 0-5.
 
	- One of Appalachian State's setbacks was to third-ranked North Carolina.
 
	- App State dropped a 7-0 to ETSU in its last outing on Feb.19.
 
	- During a tough 4-3 loss to Davidson on Feb. 12, the No. 3 doubles tandem of Olwyn Ryan-Bovey and Brooke Gruber teamed up for a 6-1 win.
 
	- Erika Dodridge and Helena Jansen lead Appalachian State with seven victories each.
 
	- Dodridge also has five doubles wins this season, which is tops on the team. Her 12 combined victories lead the Mountaineers.
 
 
A Look At South Carolina
	- The Gamecocks have won two consecutive contests before their match against Campbell on Saturday.
 
	- South Carolina cruised past Charleston Southern, 6-1, on Feb. 20.
 
	- Misa Malkin earned her first-ever SEC Freshman of the Week honor.
 
	- Sarah Hamner is South Carolina's top player with a 22-4 record.
 
	- Ayana Alki and Makin have combined for 29 victories.
 
	- In the newest ITA Rankings, South Carolina received three first-time rankings in No. 109 Elise Mills, No. 39 Hamner/Malkin and No. 42 Akli/Malkin. Additionally, Hamner remained No. 2 in singles and Akli moved to No. 43.
