WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team went toe-to-toe with eighth-ranked Wake Forest before surrendering a 6-1 decision Saturday afternoon in a match much closer than score indicated at the Wake Forest Tennis Courts.

Nico Grewe battled at No. 1 singles before falling in three tough sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.
"I just tried to stay calm and focus on one point at the time," Johansson said. "My serve worked very well, and I was solid from the baseline. It was a great experience competing against players at this level. It was a fun and great experience, and we have a lot of takeaways that I believe will help us moving forward."
This was UNCG's second of three consecutive matches on three straight days. Wake Forest opened the contest by capturing the doubles points at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights.
UNCG finishes its busy weekend by hosting Davidson on Sunday at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Courts at 11:30 a.m. The match was moved inside because of possible inclement weather on Sunday morning.
"The team battled hard today," Grewe said. "It was great to see how well we can compete with great players. Going forward we are going to take this to the rest of the season and know we can play with anyone."
