GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Furman in a Southern Conference match Sunday afternoon.
Winning for the Spartans were
Nico Grewe at No. 1 singles and
Roger Rogowski at No. 4 singles. Grewe displayed resilience after dropping the first set, 6-3, to win the final sets, 7-6 (5) and 7-5.
It was Grewe's 11th victory of the season.
Rogowski won the first set 7-5. He dropped the second set by the same score before winning the decisive set, 10-7. Rogowski has won eight matches. It was his second straight singles victory.
Rogowski and Grewe teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles, 6-3. Their victory tied the doubles match at 1-1 before Furman captured the decisive contest by a 6-4 score.
UNCG plays its final regular-season home match against Elon on Thursday, April 14 at 6 p.m. The Spartans will honor their four seniors:
