CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) senior
Roger Rogowski finished the 2021-22 regular season by winning his fourth consecutive singles match.
Rogowski won at No. 3 singles after his opponent retired in the third set. Overall, his victory was UNCG's highlight during a 6-1 setback to Chattanooga in a Southern Conference men's tennis match at the UTC Tennis Center Saturday afternoon. It was the regular season finale for both programs.
Rogowski became the third member of the Spartans to finish with double-digit singles victories this season. He has won six of his last 10 matches for UNCG, which finished the regular season with a 6-14 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the conference.
Chattanooga won all three doubles matches. The No. 2 doubles team of
Christopher Johns and Alex Zuckerman and No. 3 tandem of
Hugh Knapp and
Cooper Wyett lost hard fought 7-6 decisions. Rogowski and
Nico Grewe fell, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles.
UNCG returns to action on Thursday, April 21 when it competes in the Southern Conference tournament, which will also be held at Chattanooga. Pairings, seedings, and match times will be released by SoCon before the end of the weekend.
