GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team scored a season-best 17 runs in its dominant 17-2 win over the Longwood Lancers in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at UNCG Baseball Stadium in seven innings.

For the first time this season, the Spartans scored a run in every inning, the most being six in the second.

Matt Kemp started and ended the inning with every Spartan in the lineup coming to the plate. Kemp was joined by
Dallas Callahan,
Kennedy Jones,
Zack Budzik,
Pres Cavenaugh, and
Mitchell Smith in scoring in the inning.

The six runs in the second inning pushed UNCG to an 8-1 lead after scoring two in the first from RBIs from
Greg Hardison and Cavenaugh.

Four more runs were added in the third inning after an error by the Lancers' right-fielder.
Zack Mallia scored on a wild pitch. Callahan, Smith, and Jones all crossed the plate to grow the lead to 12-1.

UNCG added two more runs in the fourth and fifth and the last run came in the sixth. Longwood scored their last run in the seventh.

Hunter Shuey earned his fourth start on the mound and pitched 2.0 innings. He allowed one run and struck out two.
Alex Hoppe brought his strikeout total to 49 with four in his 2.0 innings pitched.

KJ Wells also made an appearance on the mound. King and Noble struck out one batter.
