CHARLESTON, S.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team completed the weekend sweep over The Citadel with a 5-3 win on Sunday afternoon in Riley Park.
The Spartans scored first in the second inning on an RBI single from
Caleb Freeman, his third RBI of the season.
Kennedy Jones' single up the middle added another run to give UNCG the early 2-0 lead.
Hogan Windish's 12
th double of the season was also his 37
th and 38
th RBIs of the season, as Freeman and Jones crossed the plate to make it 4-0.
The Citadel scored its first three runs since the first inning of game one on Friday night to make it 4-3.
Brett Kelly came in to pinch run for Jones after a single through the left side in the top of the ninth. Windish hit another double that drove Kelly home to add an insurance run for the Spartans.
The Citadel had the go-ahead run at the plate, but a grounder to
Greg Hardison ended the game and finished the series sweep.
