GREENSBORO, N.C.- Sophomore
Pres Cavenaugh went 5-for-5 in the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team's 14-2 win over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Wednesday afternoon in seven innings.
Cavenaugh's five hits are a new single-game career-high.

Bott: "Pres went 5-for-5 today. What was going right at the plate?"
Cavenaugh: I just worked on a couple of things in the cage for the past couple of weeks. Things were clicking today, my timing was on. I just put some swings on some balls."
Bott: "That he did. How do the Spartans look to stay hot against ETSU this weekend?"
Cavenaugh: "We're going to get a good practice in tomorrow We're going to support softball after practice and then we're going to come back and win the series."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coastal got on the board in the first inning with a single to score an unearned run.
- UNCG answered with three runs in the bottom half of the first inning.
- Hogan Windish scored on an error.
- Caleb Freeman drove in two runs on a single to center field to give UNCG the 3-1 lead.
- Windish stole home in the second inning and Cavenaugh scored on an RBI single from Greg Hardison to grow the lead to four runs.
- Windish's third run came in the fourth inning.
- UNCG added three runs in the fifth from Ethan McKay, Freeman, and Kennedy Jones.
- Five more runs were scored by the Spartans in the sixth inning to grow the lead to 14-2.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Spartan pitching struck out eight batters, led by Austin Koehn's four.
- The 12-run difference is the second-largest win margin for the Spartans this season. The largest was 15 runs against Longwood.
- Windish's four runs are the most he's scored this season.
- Hardison and Windish had multi-hit performances.

UNCG will welcome ETSU for the final home series of the season this weekend. The Spartans will host their annual Alumni Weekend. Saturday prior to the game, UNCG will honor its 2022 senior class.
