Spartans Drop Series Open to Bucs

GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team fell to the ETSU Bucs, 5-2, in the series opener on Friday afternoon in UNCG Baseball Stadium.

Sam Murchison, Jake Wolf, and Camden Noble combined for eight strikeouts. Murchison led the trio with six.

In the fifth inning, Kennedy Jones singled to the second baseman, but an error on the throw would allow Zack Budzik to score from first base for the Spartan's first run.

Pres Cavenaugh doubled to the right-center gap in the eighth inning. A single from Mitchell Smith drove Cavenaugh home for the Spartan's second run.

FINAL WORDS FROM COACH GODWIN
"I thought they played better than we did. They beat us in all phases. They pitched better; they swung the bat better. We just lost. We have to come out tomorrow and try to even the series."
