GREENVILLE, S.C.- Kennedy Jones' two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning wasn't enough to spark a late surge in the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team's 6-3 loss to the top-seeded Wofford Terriers on Friday morning.

Jared Mathewson was hitless through the first four innings against the Terriers. His 200
th career strikeout came in the bottom of the fourth inning when he struck out Brennen Dorighi looking.

Pres Cavenaugh had an RBI groundout in the fifth inning to score the first run of the game. Wofford scored six runs over the next three innings to take a 6-1 lead.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Jones hit a two-run home run to cut the lead to three, 6-3.
