GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford Saturday night at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UNCG controlled the pace of play for the opening minutes of the game, where the Spartans had three shots in the first 14 minutes including two on target. In the 18
th minute, Wofford looked to move the ball up the field, but the Spartans'
Arnaud Tattevin was there to intercept a pass. He dribbled and took a strike from the top of the 18-yard box slipping it past Cameron Victor in net for a 1-0 advantage at 17:15. The Spartans' offense remained active in the frame, ultimately holding the shot advantage, 7-3, heading into halftime.
Both teams had three shots apiece in the first 17 minutes of the second half and both were able to respond to each other's counter attacks. With less than two minutes left on the clock, Wofford won possession after the Spartans' goalkeeper
Jarrett Payne sent the ball downfield. The Terriers' Jakob Andersson challenged Spartan defenders outside the left side of the 18-yard box before chipping the ball to find Nikolai Rojel who headed it home to score the equalizer at 88:45.
