High Point Shoots Past Men’s Basketball, 74-63

HIGH POINT, N.C.– The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team fell to non-conference Big South foe High Point on Tuesday night at the Qubein Center, 74-63.
 
Three Spartans led the way with double figures, including Kobe Langley with 14 points and seven assists. Keyshaun Langley and Miles Jones each chipped in 11 points. Tim Ceaser registered eight rebounds.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
High Point got out to a 10-2 advantage in the first four minutes of play. The Spartans responded with a 9-2 run that concluded with a three-pointer from Tim Ceaser, cutting the deficit to one, 12-11. UNCG's Miles Jones splashed one from long range to tie the game at 14 for the first time at 10:43. The Panthers climbed to a 13-point lead, their highest of the game following Trae Benham's fifth three-pointer of the first half with 3:03 left on the clock. The Spartans scored six-straight points to cut the deficit to 38-24 with 1:37 remaining. High Point headed into the locker room with a 10-point lead, 40-30.
 
The two teams traded baskets through the first seven minutes of the second half, but High Point eventually expanded its advantage to 11, 57-46, on a three pointer with 10:03 on the clock. UNCG utilized an 11-2 run to close the gap to two, 59-57. The Spartans held the Panthers to 23.08-percent three-point shooting, while UNCG shot 38.46-percent from behind the arc during the second half. High Point kept the lead for the remaining minutes, securing the win with a score of 74-63.
