GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team continues its seven-game streak away from home as it competes in the Clemson Classic at the McWhorter Stadium.
The Clemson Classic schedule was originally scheduled from Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 12, but due to impending weather, the games will now be played between Friday and Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Spartans split a doubleheader with non-conference foe Charleston Southern on Wednesday.
- In game one, the Bucs won 3-0, where Maddie Spell struck out six batters in 6.0 innings of work.
- In game two, UNCG won 12-0 for its third shutout of the season.
- Jorde Chartrand hit her third homer of the season.
- Rylie Williams crushed her first-collegiate hit, home run, and grand slam to secure the win in the top of the fifth.
QUICK SPARTAN HITS
- Cumbie was named SoCon Player of the Week during the first week of play, following the Spartans' 3-2 start in Florida.
- Spell was named SoCon Pitcher of the Week during the second week of play, going 2-0 in the circle.

PRESEASON PRESENTS
UNCG was chosen to finish second in the SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll.
Fifth year Cumbie was selected to the Preseason All-SoCon first team. Cumbie was named to the All-SoCon first team and SoCon All-Tournament Team. She earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.
Senior
Maycin Brown was voted to the Preseason All-SoCon first team. Brown was named to the All-SoCon first team. She was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week, SoCon Player of the Week, and SoCon Player of the Month last season.
Sophomore Loftin was tabbed to the Preseason All-SoCon first team. Loftin was on the All-SoCon first team and freshman team. She was also voted to the NFCA Extra Inning Softball All-Freshman Team and All-Mideast second team. She was also selected as a Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year Top 25 finalist.
Fifth year
Samantha Lagrama was named to the Preseason All-SoCon second team. Lagrama was named to the All-SoCon second team.
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE
- The Dolphins went 15-31 overall last season and 9-15 in the ASUN.
- Jacksonville is 10-9 overall this season.
- Madison Reynolds is batting .328 swinging 19-for 58.
