CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer team dropped The Southern Conference (SoCon) matchup to the Western Carolina (WCU) Catamounts, 4-0, Thursday evening in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
HOW IT HAPPENED
An even match-up between WCU and UNCG left the first half scoreless, with possession through the midfield. The Spartans' best chance came at 5:30 when the ball found the foot of senior
Caroline Woods for one of UNCG's three shots of the half.
WCU came out firing in the second half, scoring two goals in two minutes and 29 seconds, the first from Naya Marcil and the second from Isabella DeMarco.
The Catamounts had an initial shot inside the 18-yard box that was saved, but Milla Syska was there to put the rebound back in for a 3-0 advantage at 61:15. With eight minutes to go WCU's Sarah Engen found the foot of DeMarco at the top of the six-yard box to seal the win for the Catamounts, 4-0.
