Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Sea Island Invitational

SEA ISLAND, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Sea Island Invitational after carding a two-under-par (286) in the final round on Tuesday, moving up one position from the first and second rounds on Monday.

TEAM
  • UNCG shot an overall score of 11-under-par (853) in the three-round tournament.
  • The Spartans' best score of the tournament came in the opening round with a five-under-par (283) on Monday.
  • UNCG led all 14 teams with a 2.92 average on par threes and a total of 185 birdies on the course.
  • Notre Dame took home first place at the tournament with a 32-under-par (832).
INDIVIDUAL
  • Noah Connor led the Spartans to finish in a tie for eighth place with an overall score of six-under-par (210). Connor shot back-to-back scores of three-under-par (69) in the second and third rounds. Connor paced all individuals with a 2.67 average on par threes.
  • Jack Marcotte came in behind Connor to finish in a tie for 14th place with a four-under-par (212).
  • Symon Balbin finished in a tie for 19th place after earning an overall score of two-under-par (214).
  • Randall Hudson moved up 14 spots in the final round on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 35th place with a one-over-par (217). Hudson led overall with 43 pars over the three rounds.
  • Tommy Lamb rounded out the scorecard for the Spartans in team play with a nine-over-par (225).
  • In individual action, Kelvin Hernandez and Keenan Royalty finished in a tie for ninth place with a five-over-par (218).
Up Next 
The Spartans will now turn their attention to the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Ga., at Great Waters Golf Course from Sunday, March 17 to Tuesday, March 19.
