GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team continues a six-game home streak, hosting The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Chattanooga for three games this weekend at the UNCG Softball Stadium.
The two teams are set to face off on Saturday with the doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. and then Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
The Spartans are currently 24-17 overall and 6-3 in the SoCon, while the Mocs are 26-10 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

- UNCG is coming off a 9-1 five-inning victory over cross-town rival North Carolina A&T on Wednesday at the UNCG Softball Stadium.
- With the win, the Spartans swept the Aggies this season.
- Tori Dalehite went 2-for-2 with one run scored, four RBI, and one home run.
- Jorde Chartrand tossed 4.0 innings for her fourth win of the season, striking out four batters.
- Rylie Williams and Jessie Shipley each had a triple in the game.

- Grace Loftin is second on the team with 29 RBI and 11 homers, while Tori Dalehite is second with a .371 batting average.

- Maxwell is ranked nationally in the top 15 in three categories: fifth in total bases (114), eighth in triples (5), and 12th in hits (57).
- Jessie Shipley is 38th in the nation with 12 doubles.
- The Spartans are in the top 50 nationally in four categories: 8th in walks (159), 13th in home runs per game (1.44), 33rd in slugging percentage (0.497), and 34th in double plays (0.44).
- Salem Ward is pacing the Spartans' pitching staff with 53 strikeouts in 65.0 innings of work.
- Rhyann Jones is second on the team with 44 strikeouts in 80.2 innings.
- Maddie Spell was named SoCon Pitcher of the Week (Feb. 26), while Anna White was named SoCon Player of the Week (Feb. 26).
- On March 11, Brooklynn Maxwell was named SoCon Player of the Week and Salem Ward was tabbed SoCon Pitcher of the Week.
- Maxwell was also named SoCon Player of the Month for all competition during the month of February and March.

- Chattanooga finished the 2023 softball season with a 25-27 overall mark and a 7-11 SoCon record.
- The Mocs were voted to finish fourth in the 2024 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Addy Keylon was named to the Preseason first team, while Peja Gold, Jayce Purdy, Kaili Phillips, and Olivia Lipari were voted to the second team.
- Chattanooga leads the SoCon in wins, batting average, hits, doubles, hit by pitch, on base percentage, sac flies, sac hits, shutouts, fewest hits allowed, fewest runs allowed, most strikeouts, and lowest opponent batting average.
- Phillips leads the SoCon in hit by pitch (12) and is ranked second on the active career leaders list in the NCAA with 55. She owns the Mocs career record with 44.
- Camryn Cernuto has 13 sac bunts, the most in the league.
- Taylor Long has a SoCon-best 11 wins and 104 strikeouts, 32 looking. Long also has a SoCon-low .184 opponent batting average.
- In the nation, Chattanooga is ranked 12th in double plays per game (0.56), 26th in batting average (0.317), 29th in on base percentage (0.399), 33rd in win-loss percentage (0.722), and 36th in shutouts (8).
