GREENSBORO, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team is sitting in fourth place after round one of The 2024 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championship at Reynolds Plantation on Sunday.
TEAM
- UNCG carded a two-over-par (290) in the first round of the tournament.
- The Spartans are second on the course with 16 birdies, just behind ETSU with 22.
- ETSU is leading the tournament after recording a 13-under-par (275) in round one.
- Chattanooga and Furman are following just behind at second and third place, respectively.
- UNCG is leading Mercer, Wofford, Samford and Western Carolina.
INDIVIDUAL
- Symon Balbin stands atop the leaderboard for the Spartans in a tie for fifth place after notching a two-under-par (70) in the opening round.
- Balbin is in a tie to lead all individuals with 14 pars on the course.
- Noah Connor comes behind Balbin in a tie for 12th place with an even par (72).
- Randall Hudson sits tied for 15th place after notching a one-over-par (73).
- Jack Marcotte recorded a three-over-par (75) to come in a tie for 22nd place after round one.
- Kelvin Hernandez rounds out the leaderboard for the Spartans in a tie for 27th place with a four-over-par (76).
