Marville Drops Career-High 17 Points in Defeat Versus Delaware

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team fell to Delaware, 73-60, on Tuesday in the 2025 Jacksonville Classic in Adams-Jenkins Complex on the campus of Edward Waters University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Delaware started with a 5-0 run, keeping UNCG scoreless until the 15:51 mark when Justin Neely made a free throw. The Spartans tied the game twice, with the latter at 13:00 when Valentino Pinedo's jumper knotted the game at seven apiece. His basket began a 14-0 run for the lead and 12-point cushion, 19-7, UNCG's largest advantage of the game. Delaware cut the deficit to two, 26-24, after hitting four three-pointers in a span of 3:38. The Spartans kept the advantage for the remaining minutes, as both teams scored just three points each with UNCG going into the break with a 29-27 lead.

Coming out of the break, the Blue Hens went on a 14-9 run, regaining the lead, 41-38, at 14:45. All nine of UNCG's points came from threes from Lilian Marville. After KJ Younger made two free throws to keep the game within one, 41-40, Delaware went on a 12-3 run climbing to a 10-point advantage, 53-43, with 9:17 left in the second half. The Blue Hens remained on top the rest of the frame and eventually saw a 14-point gap twice in the final 1:30 to capture the 73-60 victory.
