12/4/2025 1:22:00 PM

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball Head Coach Janelle Breneman announced the team's 2026 schedule on Wednesday.

The Spartans concluded the 2025 season 39-18 overall and 14-6 in The Southern Conference (SoCon). It was the seventh-straight season with 30 or more wins, excluding the 2020 shortened season. It was also the 10th year with 30 or more wins under the direction of Breneman, who is in her 14th year with the Blue & Gold.

"Our 2026 schedule gives our team a tremendous opportunity to grow early and compete against a wide range of talented programs," said Coach Breneman. "Hosting multiple tournaments at UNCG allows us to showcase our home atmosphere while testing ourselves against strong regional and national opponents. As we move into conference play, we know every weekend will matter, and we will embrace that challenge. We're excited to get started and proud of the work Team 41 has put in to prepare for a competitive spring."

The Spartans saw another successful statistical year offensively, leading the SoCon in home runs (80), slugging percentage (.527) and on-base plus slugging (.914). They were also second in at bats (1505), runs scored (334), hits (459), RBI (318), walks (198), batting average (.305) and on-base percentage (.387).

Among the nation, UNCG was ranked 15th in home runs per game (1.40), 16th in home runs, 19th in total sacrifice bunts (45), 29th in slugging percentage, 38th in RBI per game (5.58), 39th in RBI and total sacrifice flies (20), 41st in win-loss percentage (.684), 44th in walks (198), 51st in total runs (334), 52nd in scoring (5.86) and 56th in hits.
