Men’s Tennis Travels to Davidson this Weekend

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team is set to take part in the Davidson Invitational from Friday to Sunday at Davidson Tennis Courts. 
 
Tournament Information: 

  • Over the three days, all teams will compete against each other in both singles and doubles matches. 

  • All three days will be a 9:00 a.m. start with warm-ups beginning at 8:00 a.m. 

Teams Competing: 
UNCG, Gardner-Webb, Davidson, Queens, Longwood, UNC Asheville and Wofford 
 
Spartans Last Season: 

  • UNCG concluded the 2025 regular season 9-14 overall and 2-5 in The Southern Conference (SoCon).  

  • The Spartans boast four seniors and three newcomers this season. 

  • Devon Moskowitz finished on top for the Spartans in singles this past year with 16 victories.  

  • The dynamic duo of Black and Moskowitz had eight doubles victories last season which led the team.  

Spartans Last Time Out:  

  • In the Spartan Invitational, Moskowitz and Tymofiy Khrystyuk won three out of their four doubles matches.   

  • As a team, the Spartans won 20 singles matches over the three days. 

Scouting the Opponents:

  • Gardner-Webb – The Runnin' Bulldogs went 20-5 last year and captured the Big South Championship. Gardner-Webb advanced to the NCAA Tournament where it matched up against No. 1 seed Wake Forest and lost 1-4.  

  • Davidson – The Wildcats went 12-11 last season and 2-2 in the A-10. Davidson made it to the conference championship game before losing to No. 1 seed Dayton, 1-4.  

  • Queens- The Royals went 5-16 last season and 0-8 in ASUN conference play, they enter the 2025-26 season with four freshmen, five sophomores and one junior.  

  • Longwood- The Lancers went 7-11 last season and 1-2 in conference play, making it to the semifinals of the Big South Tournament before losing to UNC Asheville. They enter this year with the entire roster returning from last year.  

  • UNC Asheville- The Bulldogs come into the 2025-26 season with seven returners. Asheville finished the season last year with a 12-10 record and made the UTR Sports NIT Championship tournament before losing in the first round to Rider. 

  • Wofford- SoCon rival Wofford is coming off a 6-13 overall record and a 1-6 mark in conference play. The Terriers return nine players from last season while adding two freshmen.  

Up Next  
The Spartans will have a short rest before traveling to the ITA Regionals on Oct. 16-19 in Cary, North Carolina, at Cary Tennis Park.
