Men’s Golf Finishes in Fourth at Palmas Del Mar Collegiate

HUMACAO, PUERTO RICO – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team finished the Palmas del Mar Collegiate in fourth place on Tuesday behind an 11-under-par (853) at Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan in Humacao, Puerto Rico.

TEAM
  • UNCG carded rounds of 290-282-281 to finish the three-day tournament in fourth place with an overall score of 11-under-par (853).
  • Wake Forest claimed first place behind rounds of 282-281-275 for a 26-under-par (838).
  • TCU with a 20-under-par (844) and Southern Illinois with a 15-under-par (849), finished in second and third place, respectively.
  • Eastern Kentucky, Delaware and The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford all finished at the bottom of the team leaderboard in a tie for 12th place with a 14-over-par (878).
  • The Spartans finished second in the field with 58 birdies and a 4.58 average on par five holes.
INDIVIDUAL
  • Kelvin Hernandez finished on top for the Spartans and in a tie for seventh place with a six-under-par (210) behind rounds of 72-69-69.
  • The junior's 69 marks a new season-best round score. He finished tied for fifth in the field with one eagle and 14 birdies.
  • Dax Isbell followed closely behind, finishing in a tie for 16th place after recording three consecutive rounds of one-under-par (71) for an overall score of three-under-par (213).
  • B.J. Boyce moved up 13 spots on Tuesday after recording a three-under-par (69) in the final round. Boyce completed the event in a tie for 23rd place with a one-under-par (215) final score.
  • Jake Lewis and Liam Percy both finished in a tie for 51st place with a five-over-par (221).
  • Percy carded a three-under-par (69) on Tuesday for a new career-best round score.
  • Will Guidry posted a seven-over-par (223) to finish tied for 59th place.
  • Keenan Royalty recorded a nine-over-par (225), finishing the tournament in a tie for 65th place.
  • Cole Isbell rounded out the scorecard for the Spartans, finishing tied for 78th place with a 14-over-par (230).
  • Percy and Hernandez' 4.33 average on par five holes was tied for second in the field.
