Men’s Basketball Extends Win Streak to Four with Victory Over Wofford

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team extended its win streak to four behind a 99-89 victory over The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford Terriers on Saturday evening inside of Bodford Arena.

Justin Neely led the game with his 17th double-double of the season and 24th of his career, scoring 29 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. This is the second time in his career he has scored 29 points. The last time was versus Maine on Feb. 20, 2025.

The Spartans also had four others with double-figures, including KJ Younger with 22, Valentino Pinedo with 15, Lilian Marville with 13 and Donald Whitehead Jr. with 11.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Younger hit the first three-pointer of the game at 19:38 which propelled the Spartans to a 13-0 run with 15:23 left in the half. UNCG maintained a double-digit lead through the 9:05 mark, before Wofford fought back with a 10-0 run, cutting the deficit to five, 21-16, with 7:46 remaining. The score toggled back-and-forth until five-straight points from Clyde Bailey II gave UNCG a 10-point cushion, 30-20, with 5:46 on the clock. After the Terriers cut the deficit to six, 33-27, with 4:07 left, the Spartans finished the half strong with a 14-3 run to build a 47-30 advantage.

The Spartans used a 6-2 run out of the break for their first 20-plus lead of the game, 53-32. After Wofford came within 11, 70-59, UNCG responded with a 13-2 run to stretch the margin to 22-points, its largest of the game. The Spartans were able to maintain its double-figure buffer as time began to expire and Wofford's Jayden Tyler drained a three-pointer for the Terriers' last basket, leaving UNCG with a 99-89 victory.
