Dax Isbell Paces Men’s Golf After Round One of Palmas Del Mar Collegiate

HUMACAO, PUERTO RICO – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team sits in a tie for fourth place of the 14-team field after round one of the Palmas del Mar Collegiate on Sunday at Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan in Humacao, Puerto Rico.

TEAM
  • UNCG is in a tie for fourth place with TCU after recording a two-over-par (290) in the opening round.
  • Wake Forest is leading the field with a six-under-par (282) in round one.
  • Southern Illinois and Viriginia Tech follow closely behind in second a third place, respectively.
  • Southern Illinois notched a four-under-par (284) and Virginia Tech posted a one-over-par (289) on Sunday.
  • The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford sits in 11th place with a 12-over-par (300).
  • The Spartans are tied for second in the field with 17 birdies on the day.
  • UNCG is third with a 4.65 average on par five holes.
INDIVIDUAL
  • Dax Isbell is pacing the Spartans in a tie for 11th place with a one-under-par (71) in the first round.
  • Kelvin Hernandez follows closely behind with an even-par (72), sitting tied for 16th place.
  • Keenan Royalty notched a one-over-par (73) to be tied for 23rd place.
  • Jake Lewis and Will Guidry are tied for 30th place after carding a two-over-par (74) on Sunday.
  • B.J. Boyce is tied for 52nd place with a four-over-par (76).
  • Liam Percy posted a six-over-par (78) to be tied for 68th place. He is tied for second place in the field with a 4.25 average on par five holes.
  • Cole Isbell rounds out the scorecard for the Spartans to be tied for 73rd place with a seven-over-par (79).
  • Ashton Harper of Virginia Tech, Jack Beauchamp of TCU, Shaun Cook of Kennesaw State and Tom Haberer of Wake Forest are all tied for first place with a four-under-par (68).
